Anna Leigh Ashford
Annaleigh Amanda Ashford is an American actress singer and dancer. Her early Broadway shows included Wicked Legally Blonde Hair. She was awarded her Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in the Play in the role of Essie Carmichael from You Can't Take It With You. Annaleigh Ashford, Tony Award winner actor has worked with a variety of famous directors and actors for stage productions and on television. The award-winning actress continues her career with her upcoming projects. Ashford's upcoming project is a limited-edition Hulu show called Welcome to Chippendales, created by Robert Siegel. The show premieres on November 22, and Ashford is starring alongside Kumail Najiani. Ashford's upcoming project will be Searchlight Pictures horror thriller Dust and he will be starring with Sarah Paulson and Ebonmoss-Bachrach. The movie will air on Disney DTC as an Hulu Original. Ashford's Broadway comeback will be on March 20, 2023. He stars opposite Josh Groban for the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre revival of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. The production is produced by Thomas Kail and produced by Jeffrey Seller, the team who created Hamilton. Ashford was Paula Jones most recently in Ryan Murphy's American Crime Story Impeachment, inspired by the scandal that involved Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp in the national security crisis. Two seasons ago, Ashford was the main character of CBS's hit comedy B Positive. She also appeared in the hit series created by Marco Pennette Chuck Lorre, that starred the legendary actresses Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo Ben Vereen. A veteran of Broadway Ashford has been awarded both the Tony Drama Desk Award and the Outer Critics Circle Awards with her role as Essie. Other Broadway roles include Sunday in the Park with George Wicked Legally Blonde and her first role as Lauren In Kinky Boots a performance for which she was awarded a second Tony Award nomination. Ashford divides her time between Los Angeles & New York. She was born in Denver and was raised in Denver.
